Bij de European Design Awards 2017 viel Nederland 32 keer in de prijzen. SILO uit Den Haag is de grootste winnaar: het bureau is European Design Agency of the Year. In 2012 viel die eer het bureau ook al toe. Het is voor het eerst dat een bureau twee keer tot bureau van het jaar wordt gekozen.
Verder ontvangt SILO twee gouden awards voor het werk voor Zaans Medisch Centrum, een gouden award voor Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ en twee bronzen awards voor Life Sciences Incubator en New Delftware. René Toneman van SILO is blij verrast: 'Het is mooie opsteker voor ons team dat hard gewerkt heeft dit jaar.'
Opvallende winnaars
Andere opvallende winnaars waren CLEVER°FRANKE (2 maal goud, 1 maal zilver) en Thijs Verbeek (1 maal goud, drie keer zilver). Ambassadors won goud met het Gewoontedier en zilver met 'Acht dingen die John Mescall inspireren': een creatief project in samenwerking met Adformatie. Lees meer.
Meeste inzendingen
Nederland won in totaal 32 prijzen en was dit jaar het land met de meeste inzendingen. In totaal maakten vijftig Nederlandse inzendingen kans op een European Design Award.
